About Me

I’m warm, compassionate and focused. I  believe you can be the best version of yourself and overcome what’s troubling you. I try to understand your history, what’s shaped you and how it affects your thoughts and feelings day-to-day. By talking about what’s happened to you and where you’d like to see yourself, I give you an opportunity to experience yourself in a new way. This can help you move through being stuck and see life with a fresh perspective.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Counselling. I've worked in the NHS, schools, bereavement and domestic violence services. I have also spent several years working with charities that support people affected by disability, health issues, financial difficulty and emotional distress.

What can I help with?

Anxious? Lonely? Depressed? If these words touch something in you but you find it hard to open up to your partner or loved ones, talking to me will help.

I specialise in work, family and relationship issues and can help you overcome stress and anxiety. I also specialise in racial identity: how the world can be different for black people and people of colour. I'm experienced in supporting people affected by disability, and more specifically multiple sclerosis. I understand the challenges faced by marginalised communities and champion the rights of individuals, whatever their background.

I can help you look at what's important, slow down the pace and reconnect with the people and things that you value.

Take time out with me to refocus, re-balance, re-frame and find a path forward. It will get easier.

What Others Say

I wasn't sure what therapy was about. Taking time out with Emma to focus on what I could control in my life gave me a greater sense of purpose and alleviated my anxiety.

Anonymous client

I was very apprehensive starting counselling and Emma made me feel welcome and calmer in our sessions. I knew I needed some support to deal with and process my past but was unsure how this would work and how I would feel. By the end of our sessions Emma had guided me to a place where I had learnt a lot about how I carried forward things/interpretations/beliefs about my past and how they had manifested to impact me currently. This has brought me a big sense of relief through understanding. Thank you Emma’
